Terms of Service
The key terms for using Halalbrite — kept clear and to the point.
Last Updated: June 25, 2026
Welcome to Halalbrite. These Terms of Service are a summary of the rules for using our platform as an attendee or event organiser. Please read them — using Halalbrite means you accept them.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms govern your access to and use of Halalbrite’s website, services and applications (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms; if you don’t agree, please don’t use it.
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement. If you use the Service for an organisation, you confirm you may bind it. We may update these Terms and will notify you of material changes; continued use means you accept them.
2. Accounts & Security
Provide accurate information and keep it current. You’re responsible for your login credentials and all activity under your account — tell us immediately of any unauthorised use.
Halalbrite offers User, Organiser and Admin account types; Organisers carry the additional responsibilities set out below.
3. Acceptable Use
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in line with these Terms.
- Don’t impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation.
- Don’t disrupt the Service, introduce malicious code, or attempt unauthorised access.
- Provide accurate information when buying tickets or creating events.
4. Event Organiser Terms
As an Organiser you are solely responsible for your events — descriptions, pricing, ticket availability, delivery, and compliance with all applicable laws.
All events must comply with halal principles and Islamic values; we may remove events that don’t. You must keep event details accurate and handle cancellations and attendee communications according to your stated policy.
5. Payments & Fees
Halalbrite charges a platform fee of €0.50 per paid ticket plus VAT 23%. Free events have no platform fee. Stripe’s payment-processing fees are separate and charged by Stripe.
Payments are processed securely through Stripe, and Organisers must connect a Stripe account to receive payouts on Stripe’s schedule. Organisers can absorb the platform fee or pass it to attendees per ticket. You are responsible for any taxes arising from your use of the Service.
6. Refunds
Halalbrite handles all refunds directly under a single global refund policy — there is no separate policy set by individual organisers. Tickets are generally non-refundable and are only refunded where there is a genuine issue with the event, such as it being cancelled, postponed or materially changed. Tickets are transferable.
To request a refund, report the event or contact us through the Contact & Help Centre, referencing your booking and the reason for your request. Approved refunds are transferred to your original payment method within 7 working days. Stripe’s payment-processing fees are non-recoverable and are not included in any refund.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content and features are owned by Halalbrite and protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute or resell any part of the Service without our written permission.
You keep ownership of content you submit (event descriptions, images, etc.) and grant Halalbrite a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use and display it in connection with the Service.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your data; by using the Service you consent to it. We apply appropriate safeguards but no online system is completely secure. Third-party services such as Stripe process data under their own policies.
9. Disclaimers & Liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. Halalbrite is not responsible for the conduct of organisers or attendees, the quality or safety of events, or disputes between users.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid to Halalbrite in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Halalbrite and its team from claims, damages and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms or others’ rights, your events, or content you submit.
11. Termination
You can close your account at any time from My Account → Settings → Danger Zone. Note: if you are an Organiser with an upcoming event that has ticket sales, you cannot close your account until that event has been completed — attendees are relying on it going ahead.
We may suspend or terminate access at any time, including for breach of these Terms. On termination your right to use the Service ends, but provisions that should survive (such as payment obligations and liability limits) continue.
12. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. We’ll first try to resolve any dispute through good-faith negotiation; if that fails, the courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction.
13. General
These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Halalbrite and supersede prior agreements. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a right isn’t a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign ours. We aren’t liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
