Cookie Policy
How we use cookies and browser storage to power Halalbrite
Last Updated: June 25, 2026
What this policy covers
Cookies and browser storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) are small pieces of data a website saves in your browser. Halalbrite uses them only where they are needed to make the platform work — to keep you signed in, remember a few preferences, and prevent you from losing work. This page lists everything we store.
Privacy-first analytics, no advertising
We use Google Analytics to understand how the platform is used — for example, which pages are popular — so we can improve it. It is configured to collect aggregate, anonymous usage data only; we store no personal details through it. We do not use advertising cookies or pixels (such as Meta Pixel), we don't sell your data, and we don't build advertising profiles.
What we store
Currency preference
Cookie (first-party)Remembers the currency you choose to view prices in, so it stays the same across visits.
Up to 12 months, or until you clear your cookies.
Sign-in token
localStorageKeeps you securely signed in to your Halalbrite account across page reloads.
Cleared when you sign out or clear your browser storage.
Account profile
localStorageStores your basic profile so the app can personalise your experience without refetching it on every page.
Cleared when you sign out or clear your browser storage.
Event drafts (organisers)
localStorageSaves an in-progress event and its tickets while you build them, so you don’t lose work if a page reloads.
Cleared when the event is published or you clear your browser storage.
Checkout recovery
sessionStorageTemporarily holds your in-progress checkout and event preview so a refresh or returning from payment doesn’t lose your place.
Cleared when the tab closes or checkout completes.
Third-party services
When you pay for a ticket, payment is handled securely by Stripe. Stripe may set its own cookies on its checkout to process the transaction and prevent fraud, governed by Stripe's own privacy and cookie policies. We do not control those cookies.
Your choices
The storage we use is essential to running the platform, and we use Google Analytics to measure aggregate usage — there is no advertising to opt out of. You can clear or block storage at any time in your browser settings (doing so will sign you out and may reset preferences such as your chosen currency), and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's opt-out browser add-on or your browser's privacy controls.
Legal basis
Under the EU/EEA ePrivacy rules and GDPR, strictly necessary storage does not require consent because it is essential to deliver the service you requested. Our Google Analytics is configured to collect only aggregate, anonymised data and stores no personal details about you.
Updates & Contact
We update this policy whenever our storage inventory changes and will note the new effective date above.
